(151,269 posts)Unless the sushi-maker has COVID-19, I can't see any increased risk from eating sushi. I don't know about other places, but the sushi chef at my favorite spot was born in the United States and hasn't been to Japan in years. Do fish carry the COVID-19 virus? I hadn't heard anything about that.

(19,807 posts)Covid-19 started at a uncooked fresh "kill" market.
Fish might carry something as dirty as the water is, but probably no viruses, just metals. Maybe there is money to be made ming fish for the metals?

The Bluefin fishermen are catching the spawners now, and soon that fishery will collapse. It will be like the Newfoundland cod fishery crash.
