Trump calls Gov. Inslee 'a snake' over COVID-19 response
Donald Trump described Washington Gov. Jay Inslee as "a snake" on Friday, a day after Inslee, Vice President Mike Pence and state officials held a harmonious meeting to discuss COVID-19 in a state which has recorded 80 cases and 14 deaths in the state.
The president made his remarks in a rambling news conference after he toured a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention laboratory where testing for the virus is done.
"I told Mike (Pence) not to be complimentary to the governor, because that governor is a snake," Trump said. "I said, 'If you're nice to him, he will take advantage.' Let me just tell you, we have a lot of problems with the governor . . . so Mike may be happy with him, but I'm not."
Trump had been grousing about not getting praise for his administration's COVID-19 response, and zeroed in on Inslee, saying:.
"If we came up with a cure today, and tomorrow everything is gone, and you went up to this governor -- who is, you know, not a good governor, by the way -- if you went up to this governor and you said to him, 'How did Trump do?' He would say, 'Trump did a terrible job.' It makes no difference."

We've had to depend the University of Washington Medical Center to get a COVID-19 test kit together because Trump's lackeys at the CDC haven't been quick enough.
