I've been working 3:15 to 11:15, and Wednesday night, we were informed that we were all going to day shift. I have to shift my body schedule NINE hours, instead of one.

for the fact that it will once again be dark when I get up. This means I’ll be skulking around the back yard in my jammies with a flashlight, checking the perimeter for all the various forms of wildlife we deal with before I can let the dog out. And because it’s dark there WILL be wildlife out there. Ugh..

Especially on the lookout for the smelly variety. Skunks are as cute as can be and I find them fascinating. Unfortunately Zeus thinks they are fascinating, too 🥴

Far more difficult and worrisome are the herds of deer that hang out in the yard and have no fear of humans or large, barking dogs.

Merlin got skunked about seven years ago. I’m sure he would take the chance again if he could, but he has Mom..in her jammies..with her flashlight..scaring away every critter that will scare.

Alas hunting is illegal within city limits. The huge buck, who seems to be king of the area, would do serious damage to me and Zeus. But OMG is that buck a magnificent looking animal.

The things human moms do for their fur babies. We are good people. 😄

Last fall, we had a buck and three does using our back yard as a Motel 6 for 24 hours. Couldn’t let the dog out, had to walk him out front which he hated. I’m only grateful I didn’t have to explain the goings on to any small children. Reproduction 101! 😂😂😂

Plus, we're on the western edge of our time zone which means that dusky twilight can extend to 10:30-11:00 pm in June. If they ever do make a permanent switch, I hope it is to year round DST.

Easily another 6-9 holes

I think I'll play lots more golf while the virus is an issue. Wide open spaces and fresh air.
