I don't know if this has already been posted here or not. I don't know why the state doesn't just get on with it, regardless of what the worthless CDC has to say.
I'm thinking about yanking my kids from school until they get this bullshit sorted out. I'm not worried about them, but we live with my 80 year old mother, and I'm not going to risk her or my lives over this shit policy.

(58,374 posts)It looks like he is purposely limiting testing to keep "the numbers" down for Dear Leader.
CCD Chief Robert Redfield, a RWNJ Trump appointee, said at the CDC presser that the "most important thing" was to thank Trump.
Trump prompts Redfield for what was obviously a previously arranged compliment by saying to Redfield, "Do you have something to say?" At the 5:30 minute mark:
Trump stood next to him nodding as Redfield gushed, then Trump went on an unhinged tear contradicting the scientists and claiming people had complimented him on how well he understands all this. NUTS!

After days of advocating the federal gov't to expand #Coronavirus testing capacity, we just received word that Northwell Laboratories has been authorized to test.
Manual testing of 75-80 samples/day will begin at Northwell immediately.

(28,299 posts)that was described in the original tweet, and is still woefully inadequate.
After discussing things with my mother, we've decided to go ahead and take the boys out of school for the time being.

(1,862 posts)But they are also processing tests at NYS run labs, too, so there is more tests being processed then the 75-80 this private lab will be doing.

(7,593 posts)I don't know why the other 6 weren't approved. That is my reading of the tweets anyway.

Once testing in this state is fully up to what it should be, and the extent of infection is a known quantity in this area...well, they probably will have closed down the schools by then anyway.
