(9,897 posts)Trump is the single worst human being in recorded history when it comes to thinking about ANYTHING but himself. I loath him with the intensity of a supernova inside a volcano being triggered by Scientologist hydrogen bombs!!!

(8,144 posts)affected, one whom I knew well as a child. I knew one had lost a husband and little girl, got onto talking to the dead, but in between had raised her sisters children after she had died. Found out during some genealogical research that the ones husband and daughter died of that flu as had her sister. She eventually married her sisters husband so they could raise the children. My fathers family never mentioned any of it to him.
When the U.S. Surgeon General of the time came out with some chronicle of his stint as SG, he devoted only a paragraph to the flu though he had toured several army bases where it was rampant, called in on an emergency basis.
I am a history buff of the city I grew up near and yet for most of my life did not know it had put in place rules regarding crowds, wearing masks at the cinema. I found that much contemporaneous
history left this epidemic out.
So did families.
