people with covid-19, the inability to get tested (unless you're already far along with the most florid symptoms), even when you have good reason to believe you've been exposed, is probably causing a lot of preventable deaths.

(14,532 posts)South Korea has been proactive with testing. Finding people with no symptoms and treating/quarantining them. Their mortality rate is .6
Where the US has been reactive in testing C-19 with a much higher mortality rate.
So is the difference in the mortality rate because the more you test you get more positive diluting the number of deaths.
Or is it because of being able to treat asymptomatic positives before C-19 advances to a more lethal stage?
Are both true?
