Let's hope that markets will stabilize but let's also remember that Trump's

buddies - Putin and the Saudi Muhammad bin Salman - were a factor in their oil price war.

That if this continues it can bankrupt another Trump’s pet: the shale industry.

as an excuse to give shale oil companies huge bailouts despite there being no meaningful connection except a coincidental temporal one. A pox on the House Dems if they go along with that give-away.

That'll be bankrupted from the huge oil price drops . They will not be able to compete, and will fold quickly.

Just what I've been expecting.....

White House likely to pursue federal aid for shale companies hit by oil shock, coronavirus downturn
But the idea could face resistance from those who support direct aid to workers. One critic called the idea ‘absurd.'

The White House is strongly considering pushing federal assistance for oil and natural gas producers hit by plummeting oil prices amid the coronavirus outbreak, as industry officials close to the administration clamor for help, according to four people familiar with internal deliberations.

White House officials are alarmed at the prospect that numerous shale companies, many of them deep in debt, could be driven out of business if the downturn in oil prices turns into a prolonged crisis for the industry. The federal assistance is likely to take the form of low-interest government loans to the shale companies, whose lines of credit to major financial institutions have been choked off, three people said.

Trump and advisers have been taking calls since Monday from concerned energy sector allies, who have voiced concern and at times exasperation not only about oil prices, but also privately warning against the administration supporting any sweeping paid sick leave policy, according to a major GOP donor and a White House official familiar with the discussions.

What I want to know is where is his trade war with Putin and Muhammad bin Salman? Is Mr. Deal-maker out of ammo?
