Rick Steves of PBS -"The Story of Fascism in Europe"

Aired last night on Rhode Island PBS, and chronicles the rise of dictators and strongmen in Europe following WWI. The similarities between them and the tactics they used and the current madman in the White House, especially Benito Mussolini right down to the body language, is very revealing.

Try to catch it.

I call him the Bob Ross of Travel. Just watching one of his short travel videos (on Amazon), even if it's a place I have no interest in traveling to, calms me right down. He's so soothing and upbeat. I've been watching a lot of him this week! Thanks for the recommendation.

If you have a Roku/Amazon Fire stick/Apple TV/etc., you can view it on your TV with the PBS ap.

Folks might want to take note of the Mussolini clips. His mannerisms will look quite familiar.

Trump actually studied his mannerisms.

It definitely increased my creep factor with Trump, seeing that footage.

(I've never watched a full doc on Mussolini, so I've only seen very short clips or photos).

I just wish he had covered one of the home-grown Eastern European fascist movements

Read up on the Romanian Iron Guard - they are frighteningly brutal

is anything like his other travel writings, it is excellent but helpful especially to gay travelers.

I can't tell you how often I depended on his recommendations while traveling in Europe and not once did his advice fail to be excellent. And I have travelled to Europe 12 times over the last 20 years...

Every so often they replay it, especially during pledge week. I can get it on my Roku and have watched it several times.

I love Rick Steves and his programs. He's a very liberal guy and has been travelling the world since he was very young.
