It makes an interesting point. With all the polling that's done in the country, it may be a little surprising that no one has taken the pulse of the more than 2.3 million incarcerated people.

It may not be surprising, 45% of white prisoners would vote for Trump. With 436,000 incarcerated people being white, that could translate to 196,200 votes for the orange menace.

Other demographics include a trump vote, and overall the info is interesting, if a bit curious. In any case a good read.

Someone should tell trump this. He'd probably advocate for giving felons the right to vote.

1. IMO, if you have the right to vote on the outside, you should have the right to vote on the inside.

2. I agree. And if they vote for Trump, so be it. I have doubts that the number would be that high ...

we don't need to play with the numbers and who gets to vote, that a Republican thing: winning anyway it takes.

3. And just like the general population, not all prisoners will vote.

The carceral state favors Republicans anyway -- the Census counts prisoners where they are housed, and rural communities that open prisons benefit from higher population numbers that can affect redistricting.
