Alex Jones: Bars/Restaurants Should Not Be Allowed to Sell Booze

Alex Jones is now saying “Restaurants Should Not Be Allowed to Sell Alcohol”

Alex Jones is calling on all restaurants and bars to shut down in wake of his alcohol-related arrest

"I'm not saying conspiracy here, not saying the police are at to get me at the local level," Jones said. "But, still, the level they had was below the law ... so there you go."

He continued: "The alcohol limit used to be three times of what it is now ... Here's the thing: Restaurants should not be allowed to sell alcohol if these laws continue. You shouldn't be able to serve somebody a beer if they drink that 16 ounce beer and walk out, they're gonna go to jail. So I call for all restaurants and bars to be shut down. Seriously. Because you can't go in one, have two beers, and then not go to jail. So hey, I'm ready for the mainstream attention."

Try accepting responsibility for your actions first Alex.

this is how my daughter died. hit and run by a well known local drunk who was called Rambo by her friends. alcohol has had devastating impacts on my family beyond her tragedy. i'm over it. bottom line is nobody has to drive impaired, ever.

BAC is predicated on body weight, which means the bigger you are, the more alcohol it takes to get a particular reading.

Jones is a big man and it would take quite a bit to put him in DUI territory.

It’s not like the beer leapt off the counter into his hand anyway. He went out to intentionally get drunk, and then he drove a car.

For a member of the Party of Personal Responsibility, this is strange behavior.

People like Jones and his followers think that personal responsibility applies to other people, not to them. You can hear it from them all the time. Whenever there is some kind of systemic injustice, they are all about what the the person did to get themselves illegally profiled or shot even though they complied with all commands and it was a case of mistaken identity. You can hear Jones and the callers blaming the actual victim.

However, when they themselves actually do something like harassing the victims of Sandy Hook, or driving drunk, then they are the victims of the press, the police, bars and restaurants, society, etc... because they can't just do something that is actually illegal and get away with it.

It isn't strange behavior at all. They don't believe in personal responsibility. They believe in privilege for White people.

But there are places making drinks (like a zombie) that can put a diminutive person over the limit after just one drink. Some are so strong I shudder when I sip them - they taste like they're straight from the bottle.

I would imagine the opposite is true more often. You can sell more drinks by putting less of the expensive stuff (alcohol) in them and more filler

Also, Jones knows how much he drank. He is trying to blame the restaurant for behavior that he engaged in.

about the standard for DUI and its enforcement.

If NO amount of alcohol is acceptable for driving (which, personally, is what I believe) we need to change messaging around drinking in public. No drinking without a driver or Uber/Lyft/Cab.

This idea of being able to drink up to a legal limit (which really doesn't exist as you can be charged with impairment at any level) is something that can lull people into thinking "a couple of beers" shouldn't get them into trouble.

Fuck Alex Jones, who is a loathsome creature who needs to be ignored, please don't say I'm defending him, I am not.

What I am saying is that social drinking in this country and the messaging around it is not helpful to safety or people's understanding of what is legally acceptable.

We were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident. The involved Buick struck a utility pole on the passenger side so hard the driver side door was torn from the latching post and the car tore almost in half. When we arrived at the scene an individual was crawling on his knees in circles on the road....This was the driver. An examination found nothing wrong medically other than rule out ETOH (Alcohol Addiction). Patient stated he had lost his keys and was trying to locate them...Further questioning revealed he had consumed "two beers".

Any EMT or Cop will tell you that two is the EXACT number of beers every DUI had prior to the accident or police stop. Never one and never three.....It is like the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch-because one won't be believed and three or more means, well, bad things. Two shall be your count and your counting admission shall be two!
