Italy 12,462 cases +2,313 today 827 total deaths +196 today

FFS, the news is getting worse every day. I thought yesterdays case totals seemed low.

Edit: source of numbers tabulated: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

About 600 new cases can be ascribed to the previous day's delay in reporting delay

Bad. They do have an older population too. But the creep on the death rate isn't just age. 58Sunliner Mar 2020 #8

There are now comparisons in how far are we lagging behind countries like Italy before it hits us just as much.
But that seems like a high death rate, particularly if you disregard some of the new cases that may be in earlier stages.

As is happening in Italy right now.

They are having to choose who to treat and who to let die.

Our hospitals are not prepared for a wave of sick.

Also, trauma cases, accidents, heart attacks, strokes, etc. will be neglected in the melee.

That's up over 45% day over day from yesterday.

I think I'm going to throw up now.

It's nice to know that visitors from Italy delivered this variant locally at the Biogen conference which has already infected 71 people in MA.

than younger people.
So that's not going to keep death rate low.
