What do you call the single thingey pictured on all the cable channels? The round thing with red crowns. Is it a virus particle? Google says it's a "submicroscopic, parasitic particles of genetic material contained in a protein coat " Is that the only way to talk about just one bit of Corona virus?

For all intents and purposes the spiked sphere you're seeing everywhere is a virus particle. It has a more specific definition for people in the business of studying viruses, but for the general population this term will do.
