But it will have to surpass the yearly flu death total

They are still clinging to that argument

Until then cancelling events is paranoid overkill

Last week my brother was telling me "it's just the flu".
I educated his ass. Take it seriously, Bro. Just called me to admit he was wrong. I hope many more people are coming around.

The fact that people only respond when their favorite activity is affected is depressing. The fact that people know who the starting point guard and all the stats for their team, but don't know who their state and national representatives are and how they are voting is depressing.

I have seen guys talking for hours about who is being traded for who and how it is going to affect the defense and blah blah blah, but ask them about domestic policy on healthcare and they glaze over.

Does it affect them personally who the strong safety on the pro football team is? No, not in any tangible way. Does it affect them if premiums keep rising and health care costs keep rising and if they are no longer able to be discharged in bankruptcy? Yes, very likely. Still they sit there and learn about and argue about tackle percentage and tipped balls, and know nothing about what is going on with healthcare.

The NCAA, concert venues, colleges. They realize all of these are massive money makers. For those to be being shit down or televised without fans hits home. Smart people are making big decisions.

And I think they’re wondering why in the hell the President has been lying about it all this time.

Just had a call from my son, who had been at BJ's. Where they were fully stocked a few days ago, dear son tells me the store was close to stripped today and the lines were long. For those able to get the tp, it was selling for a price-gouging rate - $40. It's like someone flipped a switch and everyone has become aware.

Grandson will be coming home from UMass Amherst on Friday, and has online classes through April.

If these measures work and deaths from the virus is minimized, I can totally see Trump and Fox convincing enough people that the Democrats overhyped it to sabotage the economy and make him look bad. Then people who lost their jobs or lost money because of the virus will blame Democrats. I hate to be a Debbie Downer but we've seen him turn everything we had on him into a weapon against us - the Mueller report, impeachment, even his blatant abuse of the office for self-enrichment.
