Coronavirus story

My 27 year old daughter lives in Montana. Just earned her certification at the Montessori school where she has been an assistant teacher for a couple years. School sent her and a teacher friend to a Montessori Conference in Dallas to start today. School visits, workshops. At the end of the few days off the conference she and friend were going to Austin....to attend events at SXSW.

So....first SXSW was cancelled. Conference was still a go. I thought, "teachers, by goddess. Like nurses - front lines and badass!" She flew there - from Montana - yesterday, fueled by breakfast Mimosas.

Woke up in her high rise hotel, sent me a picture of her breakfast, then within minutes a text, "Fuck." Yes, they cancelled the conference on the 1ST DAY. Not before, not several days or the week before, the 1st day after presumably a large number of the 3000 registrants were there!

So, she's trying to figure this out. Main concern now is if they cancel her flight home in a week - she's looking at having a rental car on backup; $800.

Wonder how long the drive is from TX to sw MT? At least the trip is mostly free / on the school... (not the rental car, though)!

If I were you, I'd grab and reserve a rental car asap. May be to the point that you won't be able.. SWBTATTReg Mar 2020 #1
