Conservatives are not structured for crisis management

...the first qualification is a genuine affection for people, then there must be a determined leadership quality to help those people and direct and encourage others to help. Crisis leaders don’t give a shit about the perception of critics, they care about getting the job done, helping those in need just as much when there are no cameras as if there are many.
A conservative, a Trump, a neo-con has only the concern is on how they can personally benefit from a situation.
Yes I am speaking in general terms as there are always exceptions, but it applies to the last two conservative presidents and their congressmen of the same party.

I'm thinking of Kate Winslet's asshole rich fiance.
Putting money in his pocket as the ship is going down and saying, "I make my own luck."

He didn’t help a soul, just saved himself. There must be a common genetic flaw in the DNA of these types.....which would mean that Trump can’t be blamed personally, it is a “condition”

Unfortunately it takes a crisis for people to understand what many progressives have seen from the beginning.

They hate any move towards helping their fellow man. I think deep down inside they really don’t want to help people just like themselves.

They treat every situation in life as a sales opportunity. How can I make money, what’s my leverage, what’s my weakness, can I bribe?, when should I fold?... etc.

can realistically only be mobilized by government, which Republicans and conservatives are always busy reducing or hollowing out. I don't even think that we've ever seen such a hollowed out government as the one Trump is currently running. Certainly just about all Administrations have tried to trim and make government a little leaner and more efficient but nothing on the scale of what Trump has done with the current Federal Government, mostly as a result of not filling positions, people leaving because Trump is too difficult to work with and not replacing them, and the recent loyalty purges (which I certainly hope have at least been put on hold or halted indefinitely)

If they can't find anything, they simply substitute 'tax cut' as a 'remedy'.
