I just realized that this feels like watching the Japanese tsunami come ashore

Right now the thin, innocuous white like on the horizon is about 200 metres offshore, and we're running for high ground. When it hits, it will sweep all before it.

We know it’s coming and we actually have time measurements in place which few Tsunami really have. We have the vantage point of seeing how it has progressed in other countries and when and how hard it will hit. We’re ten days behind Italy.

It’s given the governors of many states incentive to implement ameliorating actions. It’s given companies time to react in the same way. In that sense we’re a lot better off than Italy has been.

I have a similar sense of rising dread, yet a little niggle of disbelief, like could that distant wave really be SO dangerous?
