(13,503 posts)That's not at all what's happening here. (In NYC.) I walked into our local supermarket mid morning. It was mostly restocked (barring Clorox and Lysol cleaning products). And it was chill yesterday.
I haven't been to the Wegmans in BK yet, as it's not quite in my neighborhood. But I have a hard time believing they're able to track that closely for extended periods of time. Maybe the cashier didn't know clearly what he/she was talking about.

(253 posts)I would not be able to buy today- I asked the store manager and he said they wanted to have enough for everyone who needed and this was to discourage hoarding or getting back on line to buy more. I asked when it would reset on my card and he said he did not think anytime soon. Not much on shelves anyway

(39,386 posts)As long as thats per day. You could say theyre pushing their loyalty card but Ive seen grotesque levels of panic buying or hoarding or whatever you want to call it. From their POV they have to maintain some reliability of supply so people dont have to rely on chance to get what they need when they need it. Thats good for consumers too.
