We are now in a rural area - and both retired. Morning hasn't changed - breakfast, newspaper - catch up on news websites and email.
Morning errands hasn't yet, but I suspect soon will, change - the trip to Home Depot, the grocery store, occasionally coffee shop.
Lunch, working in the yard - gardening, walking the dogs - the same. Then dinner - we both like to cook, so not eating out will not be much of a change.
What is really bizarre for me is the total lack of sports - and this is baseball spring training, NCAA BBall March Madness, the NBA approaching the playoffs, and the NHL approaching the playoffs - often I will listen to a game, then to a Boston sports station over my Alexa.
Now - all closed down. Very weird.
And I had a spring/summer/fall of gardening talks around the country - at least those up until June are cancelled. So, no planning, traveling, speaking - and income from the talks. We typically sell veggie plants - not sure if that will happen.
And for us, with no school age children, and both being retired, the change isn't even a fraction of what our daughter is going through - not only living in a high concentration virus area (south of Seattle) - with a son with asthma - in the gig economy (her jobs are drying up), and now the kids home - her husband's handyman jobs drying up. That's where the impact of this is significant.
Each and every one of us is going to have quite a story to tell - about how each of our lives are impacted - some far more than others. I suspect we all will eventually know those who really got sick - perhaps died. Some of us will likely be in that category. We simply don't know.
The massive insult is trump and republican politicians with their lies and distortions, showing what they really think of us all - nothing. And what of the sycophant cult? Will they learn anything from this? I suspect not. Maybe they will just go quiet, crawl back into their slimy little holes until they are emboldened again. Maybe not.
I am so thankful to have DU to share my ramblings now and then. I really hope that we all do more sharing of our own lives - things that are different, things that thankfully can be the same - at least for awhile.
Be well, all. Time to see if I can figure out what I am going to grow where - time to get the pad and pen!

(115,681 posts)Time to stay home as much as possible after helping develop guidelines for my coworkers and setting up online and phone work.
We are in the calm before the storm.

(32,118 posts)I wake up in the morning and forget for the first few seconds that Im awake about the virus and all restrictions were under and then I remember and a sort of uneasiness takes hold of me.
I have two sons at home who are still going out every day to work and I remind them every time they leave the house, to be careful. One son works in a grocery store so is exposed to the public a lot.
I swim laps several times a week in our community pool, and its closed indefinitely right now. I know Ill really miss that.
I dont mind cooking, so restaurants being closed isnt a huge problem.
Just basically thinking twice about going to a store ... Do I really need that? ... Cleaning surfaces several times a day with Clorox cleaner. Ive got things to do in the house to keep me busy.
I am really missing baseball season, which I always look so forward to this time of year.
Oh yeah, and Fuck Trump.

(8,862 posts)I wish everyone would acknowledge that it isn't Trump per se, just like it wasn't Reagan or W for that matter. It was their administration that was/is doing the dirty work and they all were mere puppet front men.
THE REPUBLICAN SENATORS ARE WHAT HAVE CREATED, CONDONED, AND EXECUTED THIS ENTIRE CORRUPT TRAGEDY.....Trump could not have done one single thing if it weren't for the Republican Senators......(oh, and of course the true mastermind: PUTIN)

(13,571 posts)...with the younger twins. Her adult daughter got in from MA last night. Her son came home from Oxford University a few days ago. (My grandson at Oxford!) Nobody leaves the house now until further notice, they expect three weeks of this. Fortunately, they have the resources to be able to stock up significantly. Three of the people in the house have chronic respiratory troubles seasonally. Bronchitis, pneumonia, etc.
I tried yesterday to place another amazon order -- they are scheduling no orders through Wednesday now!!
So I am heading out this morning, reluctantly, on city bus. Must pick up rx. Must soothe the worries of my adult daughter living with disabilities and with me, whose daily trip to the store for her pepsi is very important and must be curtailed soon.
