I'm told by a former co-worker that a Grocery store employee in her store was assaulted

On Saturday night by a customer who was apparently out of sorts. Not many details except the fellow has a black eye. I suggested she and her co-workers contact the Union for help in getting increase security in the store and that they all keep a few stray canned goods in their work carts 🛒 to use in their own defense.

It is getting ugly. Iím happy to be retired.

1. Surprised this hasn't happened more often-- people can be real assholes.

2. We only have one grocery store.

We had two, but Walmart came in and now thatís all we have. Because Iím on chemo, the doctor suggested home delivery. Halfway through my order the other night the site shut down. The next morning I was able to order food, but it needed to be picked up today. Text messages came that each delivery would be set up in a certain parking space in the parking lot and the spaces will be numbered. My pick up time is three this afternoon. I am to call them five minutes before I will arrive at the store and theyíll put all of my things in that parking space. There is to be no human to human contact. I am just hoping that they have enough supplies to fill the order because the last time I had been in the store it was getting very slim. If this system works, I think it actually is very clever and maybe could be used elsewhere. I had intended to order one week at a time, but now Iím starting to hear paranoid cries of lack of fresh produce, bakery items, and other perishables, so I may just put another order in quickly and cook and freeze everything that I was going to make. Many of our Walmart employees are quite elderly and I think this is the reason that they fear the store itself my close.

3. Do you get Amazon delivery?

You might not be able to get Amazon Fresh if you don't have the necessary grocery stores nearby, but Amazon pantry could help you stock up on canned goods - including canned vegetables and fruits, cereal, evaporated milk, laundry detergent, bread flour, etc.
