I went to my work office this morning and took myself out of work for two weeks, unpaid.

In two weeks if I need more time off I will take it. I had no choice because I work with the disabled and management is not doing anything to protect the staff or the disabled. They have been completely silent. They are incompetent. My life and the life of my wife are more important than a job.

Luckily I started an emergency fund the day after Trump was elected. I have enough saved up to last me many months.

I don't think they have any plan in place if it spreads among the workers and the disabled. shockey80 Mar 2020 #6

All of us drivers are over 60, retired folks working for fun, extra money, whatever. We’re all still working.

We take people to dialysis daily, the developmentally disabled we take to their work centers, many people to grocery stores, physical therapy, etc.

We’re disinfecting the vehicles daily. I spray down everything with Lysol after anyone is on the bus.

We’re all still working, and we’ll continue to do so. These people are mostly home bound, and we’re their only conduit to the outside.

Like yourself, some people will need to be aggressive with their employers during this time if they want to stay alive.

I used to work for this kind of employer so I know what it is like.

I asked them why none of the workers have not heard anything from management about the virus. They said they were still waiting for guidance from corporate headquarters. I said, while you're waiting I would like to take off two weeks unpaid. They said OK.

One of the disabled I work with went to the hospital Saturday, he is still there. Is he going to tested before he is sent home? They could not answer me.
