And no tests. But it's unlikely just to be that.

(12,225 posts)I had to cancel international travel, as did many, many of my colleagues.
Much of the state is quite poor, but not all. Morgantown and Charleston have loads of $$. There will be many cases once the students who live off-campus come back from break. Then we're pretty well fucked. I'm happy the university told all faculty to work from home. No complaints from me (except I feel ever-so-slightly like I'm in a prison).
But your other points (corruption) are spot on. Jim Justice is a Trumpy as they get.

Probably just no tests, this is everywhere, shortages & not readiness, it's gonna get worse before it gets better, and yeah selfQ and only ER if you got shortness of breath seems to be the method through the madness?
Good Luck!

(19,177 posts)They show 80 tests negative and 4 pending.
I would bet they have cases, but those infected have not yet sought or perhaps not needed medical help.

(25,406 posts)but if it's on the menu at Tudor's, I'm down with it! The first time I spent the night in WV was for a wedding of a friend's daughter, the next morning we made our way to this place. I wish I could make biscuits half as good at home.
My friend brings back big bags of a dozen frozen biscuits when he goes to visit her. I trade good beer for them, so we're both happy!

(snips)
Dr. Cathy Slemp, state health officer and commissioner of the state Bureau for Public Health, said the majority of the people who are being tested currently are those seriously ill in hospitals or near hospitalization or those who may have been exposed to the virus.
Slemp said the DHHR is aiming for a one- or two-day turnaround time for the tests, which are generally completed in batches of about 20. Some tests have preliminary testing and then the test runs about six or seven hours.

"The bottom line is our president is urging all of us, as I am urging all West Virginians, to stay calm, be smart, use great hygiene, take care of the people who are elderly that you can help, Justice said.
Justice said Trump assured him there is not going to be a shortage of food or supplies at grocery chains.
Justice said he does not recommend closing restaurants and bars just yet.
He's basically following Trump's line of bullshit - don't worry, be happy!.........
