The house could certainly write in that requirement. Make the Senate R's reject it. Preferably in a vote.

Let the airlines sell those shares

So sick of corporate welfare.

What’s it called when multi-national corporations own a country?

Pun intended.
It's like when they bailed out the financial institutions and the auto industry; a necessary evil.
But that bailout money was paid back.
We need to require that of the airline industry also, if we give them money to keep going through this crisis.

Probably won't be the last.

I'm not a big fan of tax cuts for big business, but seriously, if we WANT them to spend it on employees (pay, benefits, training), equipment improvements, technology improvements, etc... then after we give them the carrot, they have to get the stick of they don't follow through.

Use your big cut for stock repurchase, then next year you pay back 5X whatever cut you got.

Seriously, it's not as though these business have a history of doing the right thing.

Auto industry -- was LOANED money by Obama and paid back every dollar (D)

Bank industry -- was BAILED out by Bush and squandered every dollar (R)

Farm industry -- was BAILED out by Trump because of Trump's created crisis and over 85% went to massive corporations who will never pay it back (R)

We could go on and on ... welfare is OK if it is for large corporations -- and done by an (R). But if a LOAN comes from a (D) ... it is bad.

If they need a loan, they can pay it back. They will have to make smarter choices like the auto industry did. That is how I want to see my tax dollars used.

After, of course, income replacement for the Americans who make less than pick a reasonable number that still leaves you in the middle-ish class like $175K for a family. No free money to these blood sucking corporations who haven't built a war chest for a crisis.
