President Trump said on Wednesday that the U.S. border with Canada will be temporarily closed to 'non-essential traffic.’ He said in a tweet that it was being done with the “mutual consent” of Canada, adding that it would not impact trade and that more details would soon be released.

The news comes as the deadly coronavirus outbreak continues to spread, despite increasingly strict quarantine measures around the world. As the number of cases grows, experts are warning that life worldwide will be severely disrupted for many months.
