Gates, Bloomberg and Bezos.

The nation’s wealthiest individuals are contributing to the coronavirus-pandemic response, but they can’t compensate for government inaction.
***************************
We’re imagining, we’re hoping, that the government is going to support this effort. That’s the hope,” she said. “We do not generally buy supplies and equipment for the United States. It doesn’t mean we could never. At the moment, that doesn’t seem to be the place where we’re going to have the most impact.”

In an interview yesterday, Henning and Frieden told me that while the nonprofit and philanthropy sector can often move more quickly and flexibly than large governments, its role is to fill in the gaps, not to compensate for government inaction.

“This isn’t a money problem,” Frieden, who served as Bloomberg’s health commissioner in New York, said of the supply shortages. “This is an operational and administrative problem, and it’s really a core government function. There are some private-sector initiatives that may be helping—for example, an effort to get testing more widely available—but really this is about the government doing what only the government can do.”

No shit, sherlock, but these are obviously exceptional times.

That fucker, Bloomberg has 61 Billion dollars and had NO problem shelling out Half a Billion for his presidential run. He, and the others should be stepping up during this emergency and supplying the country with what it needs -- They have MORE than enough.

Even $150,000 won’t get you a ticket: Super-rich spurned by private jets as coronavirus stops flights

Private jet operators are turning away wealthy clients as coronavirus-related travel bans restrict their ability to operate, despite a surge in requests from people willing to shell out as much as $150,000 to secure a spot on their planes.

Fortunately some are stepping up like Gates and Bloomberg.

But others, like the Koch's, can't be bothered to even donate the toilet paper they make. In fact they're actively lobbying Congress against providing relief at all.
