I've wondered sometimes what it was like to live thru the fall of the Bastille, or the assassination of Franz Ferdinand...now we know. My guess is, historians will someday regard the period from 9/11, to Coronavirus, as one specific epoch of American history...

(18,402 posts)The electricity went out in our entire neighborhood (600 customers), just as we had put dinner in the oven this evening. Well, we have a grill on the balcony, and I was able to light the gas stove with matches, so at least we didnt lose our precious food.
Better go. Cant recharge this device if it takes a long time to repair.

(24,728 posts)I expect rolling blackouts. We live near the end of the grid. We have our own well, septic. Generator.
We've filled our water storage. Probably should do more. You're supposed to have water stored in readiness anyway.
