At the next press conference, maybe reporters should

address their questions to specific professionals and bypass Trump altogether. I wonder if that would work. They could say something like "Thank you, Mr. President, I have a question for _______."

After that, they should walk out and leave him there alone.

He is taking an hour and a half, or longer, to use them to promote himself with his supporters. They are being used. Thirty minutes would be plenty sufficient to capture anything new that they have to say.

They should not play his game.

the spotlight with ANYBODY.

Now, they could try asking him an innocuous question followed by a serious question to somebody who knows what they're talking about. Trouble is, after this morning, it's hard to know WHAT question might set him off.
