We must preserve the infrastructure of the economy

In this bailout package it has to be structured in a way that preserves the infrastructure of the economy because it is a temporary situation. The infection numbers will decline and we will have a vaccine eventually. So we should for example, float the rent for your favorite neighborhood restaurant so that when things return to “normal” the operation is in place and they can hire everyone back immediately and everyone who has been cooped up are gonna paint the town red. Visualize the end of this and a new beginning. Stay safe.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
