(8,789 posts)can probably give you an exact figure...
The Ford Pinto horror PROVED that they actually weighed the cost of not doing anything vs payouts on death lawsuits.....
They look at it as simply a "Cost vs. Benefit" calculation and analysis.......
Unlike many other countries, the federal gov't merely fines the corporation with some token dollar penalty.
In a lot of other countries, they imprison the top management and in some, the even execute them if their actions were particularly horrific like in the case of the pinto.....

But I think hes off target here. Its imperative the economy re-open full tilt by Easter. I read that Trumps top money making businesses are losing $500,000/DAY. Thats unacceptable. So, a few hundred thousand people die. Weve got to get our priorities straight. Money trumps lives (pun very much intended).
Why wait until Easter? Lets re-open for business now!

(22,065 posts)And that everyone should immediately get out there and work work work and then buy buy buy!
This is the kind of true scuzzy a&& crowd rump hangs around with in real life, day in / day out.
A true scumbag, if you ask me.
If you want my opinion, we should all (besides needed items), withhold buying anything, and watch how prices go even lower. It'll only help us more.
It's amazing that they (business leaders etc.) never gripe and moan when prices keep going up (like they have been going) and that the markets, in going up and up, never gave the vast majority of us anything (majority of the gains went to the 1%ers). Oh, I know that there were a few who made money on 401Ks, etc., and hopefully they'll cashed out to protect themselves, being that this correction has been due for some time.
I expect soon we'll see rump lash out, order people to get back to work (don't, for health reasons), and if they don't, he'll order some sort of intervention or crap like that. Look at how he's treating the NY governor who desperately needs medical materials.
