I'm an RN in San Francisco.

We are expecting hell this week, as the cases continue to climb, and our trajectory is looking very similar to that of Italy.

We are short on everything. We are short on regular masks for droplet precautions. We are short on N95 masks for high risk procedures. We are short on gloves, isolation gowns, isolation carts, hand sanitizer (not emergent as we can use soap & water). We have even received training on how to reuse our masks and get the biggest bang for our buck from ONE.

I will say this. . . I fucking HATE Donald J. Trump more than I have ever loathed anybody in my entire life. I have NO use for that ugly motherfucker or his goddamned grifter fucking family. I blame every goddamned moron in this country who voted for this stupid shit head.

I can no longer hold my mouth in order to be polite. THANKFULLY, I know maybe only one repig here, so I can say pretty much anything without offense, but for once I would LOVE to offend some asshole who voted for him.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I am SO fucking ANGRY!

Trump seems to be trying to leverage this situation to benefit himself and his election.

Who is it that said he would donate 9 million N95 masks? Tim Cook?? Didn't quite get that, but my question is, where did he get 9 million masks from? And why is it stockpiled?

California is being punished.

Well, if he lets us hold elections, we will vote him out. I read someplace that holding an election by mail would cost billions. So, I hope the Dems have made some kind of provision for that.

Thank you for your service.

I am so sorry for the position you are in and it fills me with rage that our healthcare professionals are being abandoned by the Federal government in their time of need. This should be a priority - as if it was wartime! All hands should be on deck to source and manufacture PPE and the Federal government should be coordinating it.

This is just bullshit! Please be careful, take care of yourself and try to take some time every day to focus on something that takes your mind off of all this, whether it's a walk outside, a good book, or a funny movie.

We are running out of supplies. The news says SF has 152 confirmed cases as of March 24, 2020.

Source
https://www.mercurynews.com/coronavirus-san-francisco-reports-21-new-covid-19-cases-152-total

Are you guys already packed before Corona hit? Are people just going down to er anyway? I mean what happened?

I don't get how in SF California these initial cases can cause such shortages so fast.

I get it if you don't know, but am hoping you can help me understand.

We were ten days behind them, now we're only three days behind. They have recently had some success slowing the rate of increase, something like 13% to 15% increase per day. We're increasing at 30% to 40%+ per day.

We're going to pass China in total confirmed cases later this week, Thursday or Friday. (However, China may be lying.)

between nebulizer treatments. Luckily, albuterol brings me back above 95. (Oh and before you ask, I do not have asthma or any other chronic immune condition/diabetes/heart disease and my normal oxygen saturation is 99-100) Luckily, I am physician so I know how run my own mini step down ICU at home. If my oxygen saturation gets below 90 and stays there I am going to the hospital. But I don't want to go to the hospital. I have seen first hand how understaffed hospitals are. How easy it is for a medical error to kill you (almost died twice in the past from medical error and I am a doctor).

My COVID result test will be back in another 2-3 days. And let me tell you, finding someone to test me was not easy. Because we live in the days of "Don't test, don't tell." If no one knows that their health care provider has COVID then it is business as usual for health care administrators who are thinking short term only---"What happens to my bonus if my profits/patient satisfaction slip this quarter?"--rather than remembering that health care providers are not disposable and it will be much easier to lose them to COVID 19 than to replace them.

I am trying to stay chipper for my family, but when my oxygen gets that low, I start thinking about the healthy people dying.

How utterly fu**ed up. Now they want us to reuse even more contaminated overlying surgical mask.

How can the inside of the mask be considered not contaminated with straps flitting about inside an already contaminated paper bag?

I am scared to take it back out of bag even if it's been 'wiped down' first, because we know that the outside of mask was exposed to patient. . . . They told us to "dive into mask" to prevent self-contamination. . . .

RN I pray for your safety but also understand your frustration. I agree with you 100% about people who voted for Trump. I love how he lies and says we did not what was coming. They new for months and did nothing. I work for Ford and at least they are getting involved to produce medical equipment. You are a true HERO!!!! Lets us hope maybe American will remember the sacrifices of our medical people. Nurses are just as important as Doctors. Keep posting to lets us know you are ok.

I can’t stand to look at that fat fuck anymore. Turn off the TV as soon as his ass face is on. I’ve never hated anything in my life more then him and his followers. Can’t imagine what you are going through each and everyday. You make us proud of what you do. No professional medical person should have to work in that unsafe environment. He created this disaster from his dismantling the CDC. He is surrounded by incompetence and ass kissers. Pat him on the back 100 times a day or you are fired. This is a nightmare that is unfolding in front of the world . God help us all.

First, thank you. I’m one of the seniors who lives in Texas who Dan Patrick thinks are expendable, so I offer my thanks to anyone trying to help during this pandemic.

You have more of a right than I do to feel the way you describe because you are being immediately and personally affected. But I hate the SOB, too, and I want you to know that.

Imagine how different things could have been right now if we had Hillary at the helm?

I’m mad, not only for me and mine, but I’m mad for you and yours, as well. I’m mad that anyone is being put in a dangerous situation because of a stupid asshole who didn’t act.

Take care of yourself. Godspeed. Hugs and protection. And gratitude.

but I get it out: its not Trump who caused the illness to be here, it is Trumps fault it will be so much disastrously worse than it needed to be. Its Trumps fault he wasted months without mounting any sort of sane response. He's still dragging his feet as the morgues over-fill in NYC.

Claiming Easter from from the Pandemic is pure lunacy.
