It's started

I am in lockdown with my Brother. He has been very helpful with me since I am disable from a stroke that I had several years ago

But he is a TRump supporter.
We usually avoid talking about politics

He is blaming the DEmocrats for they delay in the stimulus bill.

He said that they are demanding boards for each company that gets money and that those boards must include woman and minorities.

He posted about Ted Cruz arguing about what Carbon limits have to do the Virus.

I just pointed out the Business stimulus and the People stimulus are two different bills.

I am not trying to start anything with him, we have to live together

I just want to avoid any conflict with him.

BUT I think this is TRUMPS plan all along,

In a rational world, there should be not conflict in discussions between you and your brother even if you're attached to different parties. Up until around the time of Nixon, Democrats and Republicans got along and could have friendly debates, or at least where I was raised.

Some extremely nasty right-wing operatives realized if they ever wanted to achieve significant power, they would have to create chasms between numerous groups of people in America....therefore divide and conquer. That's what they've done over the last 50 or so years and now it's come down to families and neighbors not even speaking.

This is a good Berkeley article from way back in 2003 by George Lakoff on this subject that still applies today:

I sincerely hope you can point this out to your brother and find common ground to allow him to see what Republicans have done to our society.

It breaks my heart I don't have more to give to charities right now, like I could before retirement. There's a vast amount of need around the world now, with so much suffering. Plus, we have a multitude of Democratic campaigns that need help.

I appreciate your encouraging, positive words........

Capital One lowers my minimum payment. It's really hard right now. I guess I need to apply for food stamps, but I don't have a mask, and I'm afraid to sit in the office because both my sisters and my client are super high risk. We're isolating... I have some tough decisions to make by the end of this week. We'll be okay, just have to keep telling ourselves that. Take care.
