Florida seems forever destined to rank highly on any matrix charting bizarre behavior.
So, in the midst of a pandemic, it should surprise no one to know that this state has been judged to have more covidiots than anywhere else.
This includes people who refuse to use social distancing, continue to travel, hoard items, and who dismiss the seriousness of the current situation in general, according to an email reporting the finding.
Fitbug.com, a health and fitness website that tracks health-related trends, put together a map charting the nations covidiot numbers by state. Florida ranked first, followed by Washington and New York.

On a personnel note: Local paper reported first case of the virus in my town, east of Pensacola. Doesn't surprise me. Every afternoon a group of women are seen walking in the street in our neighborhood, pushing their baby carriages along as they laff and have a good-old time bonding as young mothers. I have to control myself to not tell them if they don't care about their well-being, at least don't expose their babies. Won't make any difference, though. Too dumb to not see it.

There are idiots everywhere, though I have to say my six years in #Floriduh were definitely the most bizarre.
Be well.

(2,611 posts)In my case, it was living in Dade County, specifically Douglas Ave. and Calle Ocho, during the '80s, the period of the Cocaine Cowboys.
Crazy shit in that neighborhood.

their part. But we don't have to play along. Lets not be culls, let's be survivors!

Make it a political thing and you really have a problem with the data.
Make it a social and human thing, and everything falls right into place.
Let's be data driven, not ditto driven. Otherwise, instead of culled, we're merely survived.

What's a little COVID-19 when you can get a great tan, and be seen lookin' hot and cool at the beach?

(37,613 posts)Now, it does, but not that fast.
One nifty bit of research correlated flu (yes, I know it's not COVID--look, they have different spellings!) cases in Brazil and UV levels. On days when fires produced smoke that blocked UV, flu infection increased. On sunny days, it decreased.
"Decreased" does not mean "zero."
Coronaviruses are also UV sensitive, but still, Sun's mostly UVA and they hate UVC.
