Moscow Mitch thinks it is going to be easy to win. Perhaps not. Mitch's close association with Trump who turns out to be a "killer" could cost Mitch his job. Mitch has enabled and helped Trump more than anyone, and perhaps the people of Kentucky will decide that Mitch's time has come. If there is a enormous Democratic win across the U.S., perhaps Mitch will lose his senate job. Yes, that would be unusual, but this whole story is also very unusual. Time will tell, but after Trump, I hope Mitch is also looses. I dislike him as much as Trump, and in some ways more.

(15,067 posts)Moscow Mitch is deeply unpopular in Kentucky, but it is also a heavily Republican state. I would guess that voters in the past have shrugged their shoulders and said - "Well, I sure don't like Mitch, but I also sure ain't gonna vote for a Democrat!" This year, it just might change. Especially since the new Democratic Governor is doing such a good job for his state. I hate McConnell more than Trump because he knows better. I despise the way he treated President Obama and the way he treats our country as his personal plaything.

(6,797 posts)very carefully. He only has a thirty some percent favorability rating. But he somehow manages to keep his seat.

(9,958 posts)I grew up in Kentucky and I still remember when Mitch was part of a parade and not a soul applauded as he rode past. Yet he wins over and over. I have long suspected a bit of vote buying going on.

(43,049 posts)He is as big a prick as Trump, but a lot smarter, and his Senate job has no term limits.
I would love to see him as minority leader next year and being shit on by Schumer.
Imagine, just as one small point, Biden nominating liberal judges and McTurtle just sitting on the sidelines fuming.
And his wife banned for life from any gummint job or contract.

(9,426 posts)He stated that there "is not enough money to defeat me". Before he became tRump's BFF, he was dead set against tRump. He said "If we elect Donald Trump, it will be the death of the republican party. And we will deserve it" I would love to see THAT come true.
