Interview with Leading COVID-19 Expert From South Korea

I've been reading a lot of media and checking into the medical side of this.

I thought this was as good an interview on the virus as any I'd seen for the general public.

He covers a lot of the questions.

I searched to see if it had been posted and didn't see that it had.

He provides various scenarios on where this might go.

But he spends some time talking about how one catches this virus. He feels it can get into the air beyond sneezing or coughing and that we should be wearing masks and glasses to avoid getting infected through our eyes.

Those statements check out with anecdotes about how others have spread the infection that I've seen and other medical studies on how viruses get into the air.

Some may have heard too much on this virus and that I completely understand.
For many, this will be time well spent where you might learn something that helps you avoid getting sick or it might be something you send to someone sitting on the fence about taking it seriously.

1. Facts matter. Too bad we have the GOP which prefers using disinformation for control.

2. Saw the thread where FOX (can't call them News) was frightened

of being sued for their early reports discounting the virus.

I hope they get their asses sued off.
I'm not clear on what the basis would be but I'm sure someone thought of something for them to be concerned.

When more people start dying, that is going to bring it home to a lot of folks - including some of the MAGA deadheads. It's not fake news when you have to mourn your family member and can't have a funeral or don't get to say goodbye and hold their hand.

Like the Vietnam war or Iraq war, when people start dying, folks start to get really upset. This is going to be way worse than the Iraq causalities and at least double Vietnam losses. And Trump's performance will be far worse than all the other industrialized nations so folks will be pointing fingers at the blood on his hands.

3. Fox lies and this time their lies endanger people. As the Doc said, "This is science."

The doctor in your OP said, "This is science. You have to be humble. The moment we become arrogant, we'll lose. Perhaps Europe and the U.S. were a bit overconfident."

Fox has been arrogant with their power to persuade their cult following. trump has always been arrogant. The virus doesn't care. It doesn't care about political fallout or ratings or revenue. It just infects at every opportunity.

Denying facts does not deny the virus an opportunity to infect, it actually enhances the opportunities to infect, and that's why we're going to be pounded by covid-19. The arrogance of Fox, GOP, Limbaugh, trump, and others in that cult of greed and disinformation to spread their lies in the face of facts has, is, and will kill people.

But I have my doubts overcoming such ignorance.

He said the US and Europe were overconfident and didn't want to wear masks. He thinks masks are crucial for everyone, not just healthcare providers, until the pandemic is over. They also do mandatory tests of everyone who comes into their country, and anyone in their country who wants a test can get a test, with results within 6 hours. Such an obviously correct course of action. As the Doc said, "it's science."

7. Imagine the lives we could have saved!

If we had elected people in government based on competence instead of leaving it to those most motivated by racism, greed and denial, we might have prepared for a crisis such as this.

This won't be the last global or national or regional crisis. We need to hammer this into the electorate's collective mind.

8. My mom's favorite Bible quote was, "the meek shall inherit the Earth."

Not that I'm a believer. If Trump gets Covid-19 and dies, then I'll be a believer.

But I imagine if anyone is going to "inherit the earth," or what's left of it, it will be folks like that doctor.

They spend considerable time talking about how important it is. They both have masks in their hands. One is a doc who works with infected patients. They are sitting closer than 6 feet apart.

Look under daily increase for SK ... they've been less than cold level for a while
