It was $250 and I made less than $7 an hour. But it was apparent my dad did not have much time left so I saved a while to buy it.

I had just gotten my job and he was proud at my potential. Sadly, he never lived to see me fulfill that potential. I think of him every morning when I put it on.

Before I met my wife she used to fly Braniff from Indy to Orlando when she went back north to visit her family. At least I think it was Braniff. Didn’t know her then but she liked the airline. Think they served wine back in 82 or 83.

Mickey Mouse watches with big yellow gloves on his "hands" and a bright blue "real leather" band. Long gone, of course, but sure wish I had saved it.

For what it's worth, I'll bet your dad is still proud of you.

Alexander Gerard designed decor, down to the plates and cups, plus fashions, and graphic design for the airline. Emilio Pucci designed fashions for the personnel too.
