They knew what was happening in the world - folks were getting sick and dying and it was getting closer and closer to us here in the United States. AND they knew he was incompetent in every single way - still they let him stay in office knowing that he did not have what it took to keep us safe. They did this to us. As much as I hate trump I think I might hate them more...

(29,685 posts)I don't like him, but I don't think he has the need to upstage the experts, and we would not be subjected to these god awful two-hour pressers.

(3,382 posts)Committee briefings ... HHS for one would have been briefed. Definitely McConnell should have been briefed. And use this for Senate campaign ads. Senator McConnell knew x date and still voted to acquit....

Look at the calendar. The impeachment trial ended on Feb. 5. In reality, it was over before it even started, thanks in large part to McConnell. The only drama was about whether thered be any witnesses and that ended on Jan. 31, when the Senate voted not to hear testimony. That left plenty of time to deal with the virus.

And here's the tweet from Murphy:
Notably, no request for ANY emergency funding, which is a big mistake. Local health systems need supplies, training, screening staff etc. And they need it now.

(22,976 posts)Theyve hitched their wagon to Trump (who REALLY doesnt give a damn), and thats that. Fox, Sinclair, and others will cover their behinds.
A recent Gallup poll has Trump at 60% approval for how hes handling this crisis. So Republicans arent worried.
Its completely insane.

And not denied medical supplies to states that didn't pledge fealty to him.
And not used it to benefit his golf resorts.
etc.
