BREAKING: @GovRonDeSantis says he's issuing a statewide stay at home order to help prevent the spread of the #coronavirus. Says he decided on it after President Trump extended the federal stay at home order for 30 days.
Many counties have already been but hopefully this keeps people home even more even in those counties.
EDIT: FULL EXECUTIVE ORDER

He's 80+ and in the best hands his $ can buy, and it's right across the street from a big hospital, a plus or minus, not 100% sure?
Thanks for the chuckle, I need them!

The $ has been made for March.
April is probably a slower tourism month and he's figuring less economic impact.
It's really the only logical explanation why he's so far behind other big states.

(6,110 posts)and what are you going to do about that cruise ship with 4 already dead from corona virus?
jimfields33
(15,758 posts)That makes zero sense.
at140
(6,110 posts)Because there are 350 US citizens on the ship, if they are allowed to disembark in Florida, they must be under strictly controlled quarantine for 14 days in a secured hotel. The worst thing to do will be to release them freely and immediately.

The Governor of Florida shutdown the state of Florida an hour before our first call with the judge. It is clear our lawsuit was successful. We are still waiting to read the final order to ensure the state, including the beaches, is actually shutting down in full. We are going to

(58,785 posts)(yes, we're not all dead yet), I invite those whose only reaction is to spit at Trump and his doppelganger DeSantis and say thinkgs like "too late" to rethink and connect with your own ability to care.
We need this. It is a positive step. It is not too late for by far most of us. Not all of us are retired people who've been able to shelter and social distance for weeks. Far larger numbers have had to go to work when they should be at home.
(Btw, those spring breakers brought illness TO Florida from around the nation, spread it not just themselves but around Florida communities, and then returned home.)
