I think we should be random testing seemingly healthy people.

I keep hearing that many people who have no symptoms are carrying the virus. How many? Are they contagious? We need to quantify this and not just guess.

If there are many infected who show up in these samples then things are a lot worse. And then everyone should be tested and those that test positive should be quarantined.

I am amazed at how little we know about this pandemic.

cannot occur without very clear knowledge about who has the virus.

Unfortunately, despite the idiot-in-chief's rhetoric, there are not readily available tests.

loudly protest against these tests, after all, in the public's interest means protecting all of us from unknown carriers too. I got a feeling that a lot of church congregations are going to test positive, since a lot of them seem to think they are immune, when in reality, I suspect that they are not, and all are sick/infected. Communities being serious about protecting their entire communities have some serious issues and questions to deal with and answer.

Because currently test kits are a) in 3rd world status short supply b) slow and unreliable because Shitler knew better and refused to use the WHO designed kits.

Simple litmus test that reveals positivity or negativity. Ideally uses a common household liquid as a solvent. If positive, totally isolate and call the doctor or hospital.

About 8 billion kits needed.

Would we ask for volunteers, or would we just pull people out of their homes and jam a couple of sticks way up their noses?

then it wouldn't be a totally random sample. It would be skewed towards people who feel the need to be out of their homes more than folks who have fully hunkered down.

We are going to get to the place where either this is over, or nearly everybody gets a test routinely when they go in for a doctor's visit. I'm not sure which is going to happen first.

Healthy-looking people spread coronavirus, more studies say

NEW YORK — More evidence is emerging that coronavirus infections are being spread by people who have no clear symptoms, complicating efforts to gain control of the pandemic.

A study conducted by researchers in Singapore and published by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Wednesday is the latest to estimate that around 10% of new coronavirus infections may be sparked by people who were infected with the virus but not experiencing symptoms.

In response to recent studies, the CDC changed how it was defining the risk of infection for Americans. The agency's new guidance, also released Wednesday, targets people who have no symptoms but were exposed to persons with known or suspected infections. It essentially says that anyone may be a considered a carrier, whether they have symptoms or not....

That continues to be the major failure of the trump administration.

Remember, PPE has to be changed between each test.
