New: US government has requested 100,000 body bags

@JenniferJJacobs

News: US government has requested 100,000 body bags. Pentagon will draw some initially from stockpile of 50,000 it maintains, and is looking into buying more, sources tell @ACapaccio. Somber preparation as Trump officials project as many as 200k Americans may die of coronavirus.

150-200k IF we do everything perfectly from here on out. So 100k body bags might be enough if they stuff two or three bodies into one bag.

My first thought was that Trump was hoarding body bags in advance of acute need so he could dole them out to people who are sufficiently deferential to him.

But even Trump wouldn't sink that low.

Would he?

No, seriously, I'm asking.

There MUST be a surplus left over from Obama's term, after all, FEMA camps had thousands. <sarcasm> Sad that I need to add that here, but I have learned my lesson.
