Please wear face mask, now even CDC is changing official guideline, yes I am originally from Japan

Well,

I went to Japan on Feburary 27th and returned on March 17th.

I was shocked to find out virtually nobody was wearing face mask when I landed Dulles aiport.

The irony is that now younger people in Japan became less cautious and less peoples are wearing masks.

My impression is Japan handled first wave of influx of infection pretty well. Yes, it is ture that they really limited the numbers of tests.
However, at the same time, they contained infections and kept the death very low.

It seems to me that more young people and business men have brought back virus from mostly Europe. They are experiencing
the second wave of infection. This time, I am really worried.

Now you have 100% reasons to wear face mask when and if you need to go out.

Hertopos.

P.S. Yes, I behaved not so different from normal while I was in Japan. The only difference is 'wearing mask any time I go outside' and constant disinfecting everything , and everywhere.

That means no one wears a mask, not even a homemade one or tied hanky and allow the virus to continue to spread, shad and kill....

That makes no sense at all.

So you might as well get a clue now, cause who the hell knows how long they will be considering it. The main objective seems to be not that the masks don't help, but that there are not enough masks to go around.
"Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, revealed on Tuesday that the White House coronavirus task force is seriously considering guidance that Americans wear masks to help thwart the rapid spread of COVID-19."

They say it will give people a false sense of security and may lead to other bad habits which will spread the disease. The main function of the masks for non medical people is to keep people from touching their faces.

Meanwhile the virus continues to spread in asymptomatic individuals which is one of the reasons the numbers are increasing.

You do what makes you feel most comfortable. We'll be wearing a mask.

There are no Fucking Masks!

Nothing will cause a panic like recommending people wear something they can’t get!

I sure can’t. I have to work, although I feel safe there with the practices we have put in place.

But the grocery is a minefield of stupidity.

Starting tomorrow I’m wearing my fishing buff when I shop. Not nearly as good as a mask but better than nothing.

Of course they are probably not going to do much good to protect you, but presumably better than nothing. You can also make a filter out of HEPA vacuum bag (assuming you are able to breathe through that).

Enough to provide SPF 60. I’m thinking it better than cotton.

Of course a real mask is what we should all have.
