(2,336 posts)A person does not need to be standing right next to you or touch you. It can "hang" in the air for a time. It can also be on surfaces. I went to the pharmacy today and noticed that I rested my arm on the counter (thought to myself, oh crap). Had to touch the keypad (went home immediately and washed my hands).
Pharmacy tech was coughing. Employees were not wearing masks or gloves, and this pharmacy is remodeling so they are temporarily located in a petri-dish trailer -- no drive-up. You'd think at least wearing masks would keep them from infecting anyone else (coughing?), and no gloves? Handling money all day and not wearing gloves? Insane.
So, easy as pie to get the virus without trying at all. I've been home for two weeks prior to that outing, and will be home now for two more. I have narcolepsy and take modafinal which is considered a Schedule IV drug (it can be abused), meaning I have to show ID to fill my prescription. Cannot get it in the mail, nor can I get 90 days at a time.
