It is unimaginable that Trumps cronies compared him to Churchill when that movie came out. Im reading Finest Hour now and last year I read 1944 which was largely about FDR. Those guys were both great leaders. The had their imperfections but were intelligent, dynamic, and dedicated. Churchill was a whirlwind of activity and always knew what was going on most everywhere. Compare to trump who is clueless, uninterested, and lazy. The crisis we are in isnt a fraction of the problems some great leaders managed to deal with. But I guess with a large part of our population being terminally stupid we are stuck with this buffoon.

(17,304 posts)If I had to compare Trump to any leader of the era it would have to be Benito Mussolini. Mussolini consistently made terrible decisions and ended up destroying everything he touched. He considered himself a new Ceasar, and tried to play the part. The personality flaws of the two were very similar. Of course, Mussolini got the fate he deserved, but it was way to late to mitigate the pain that Italy suffered.

He does do his best to strike a pose like Il Duce though.
