Judge Roy Moore to represent Life Tabernacle Church

https://www.wafb.com/2020/04/01/judge-roy-moore-represent-life-tabernacle-church/

CENTRAL, La. (WAFB) - Pastor Tony Spell says Judge Roy Moore has been hired to represent his church and defend him against criminal charges.

Moore will hold a press conference at noon on Thursday, April 2.

Spell has continually defied orders by Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards by holding large gatherings at his church during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Prosecutors filed criminal charges against Spell Tuesday, March 31 for violating those orders. Spell has had multiple church gatherings at Life Tabernacle Church in Central, Louisiana since the order was issued.

That is the problem with religion in many cases. People get hooked on the power and money it brings. The idea of living a simple life and treating your fellow human being well goes out the window and you get people supporting people like Roy Moore and Donald Trump who claim to be good Christians.

quarantine order, lock them inside & surround with the National Guard. I'm sure they have a kitchen, deliver food as needed & charge it to Tony Spell.

This pedophile may have made himself un-electable even in Alabama by piling this course atop his previous sins. These services are going to kill people, there is no question at all about it. Bodies will be laid at his feet, and corpses have a way of concentrating the minds of people confronted by them. Especially when they are in large piles.

There have always been people who were "crazy" like this. The difference is that they have encouragement from the administration and from other state and local leaders.

If you have time, take a look back in history regarding religious revival movements and you will see that there has always been a segment of the population that is just given in to religion without regard for anything else. Like I said though, before, standard, mainline religions were okay and "holy rollers" were considered fringe. Now the "fringes" are out in the mainstream.

for evil ends. Similar dynamic here.

Not that hard to basically hypnotize people into believing - one word for that is faith.

I have struggled with that for years. I was born and raised Catholic. Went to school from 2nd grade through high school at Catholic schools. My parents, sister, and her family still practice. Got married through the Church and had our kids baptized. Pressure is on to have them do their first communion.

I think it is hardwired into humans to search for a purpose and meaning, something bigger than us. Religion has been that vehicle for many. Explanation and guide. Too easily manipulated though. Too easy to corrupt and create the atmosphere for horrible things to be done.
