I Hope Plans Are Being Made Now For How All Americans Will Get A Vaccine When It Becomes Available..

Right now planning should be happening to anticipate the availability of a vaccine. How will the country mobilize to make sure:

1. that enough doses are available for every American - free and at no charge
2. how the vaccine will be distributed throughout the U.S. - competently with expedience
3. where it will be available in every community; ideally multiple facilities in every community
4. that there are enough ancillary supplies available to assure that it could be administered to everyone without any chance for a shortage of equipment needed to administer (i.e., syringes, needles, etc)
5. to avoid excessive lines - some orderly method to get people to the point of administration
6. a method to track who received the vaccination and to identify those that didn't

Based on the track record of the Trump Administration in handling of this crisis - such planning needs to happen as soon as possible. I'm hoping that this topic is brought up in Congress and Congress institute a Commission to coordinate the administration of a Covid-19 vaccination when and if available.

That trump will no longer be president. I wouldn't be surprised if he just resigns immediately after losing in November, but with our luck he'll just sulk around and be even less effective than he is now, probably even start sabotaging things maliciously.

His administration has already said the co. could charge whatever they want for it, no problem. Of course they intended to be the beneficiary of the inflated price. That will rule out a huge number of people, maybe the majority. After that, health care workers and people in risk groups. Then whoever is left.

talking about how there is plenty of vaccine available for anyone who wants one, in the backdrop of blue state governors who are saying their states can't get any, even though Trump says millions have already been provided.

Or, something to that effect. After he has paraded Mr. Pillow across the stage to praise him and give us the theologic report, and the generals give us an update on the war on drugs.

First responders and healthcare workers will get it first.
Then they will start with high risk people first and go down from there.

If they don't start planning now for a vaccine administration program - no matter when the vaccine becomes available - it will be utter chaos.

You are probably right - they will start with first responders and healthcare workers. What I'm concerned about is how they manage the program from there. What's the population of the U.S.?
330 million? 380 million? I'm not sure. But without sufficient planning it will be a mess.

That's why I'm bringing this up now. We've been through mass immunization programs before. I remember when I was in grammer school - the polio vaccine being administered. So I imagine there is a template for how to roll out such a program.

There is a big difference between a program administered in the 1950's versus 2020.

Look what we're up against now because of lack of planning. Major shortages; state bidding against states; screw-ups as to what is available and working; etc - essentially chaos. Thank God the Gov's and Mayor's around the country are more organized then the Feds.

Look what they are saying about getting these checks out to the people, small businesses and companies from this bill Congress just passed. Watch how that gets administered. I expect chaos with that.

I just don't want to see chaos when we actually have a solution to this problem. That's why I'm advocating the start of planning right now.
