Welcome to Tennessee where we have a republican house, a republican senate and a republican governor.

...that's very close to how the golf course exemption was worded.
Within 4 days, 17 golf courses were reported for NOT following all the rules "as well as is practicable". In fact, 14 of them followed NONE of the rules.
So, Pritzker rescinded the exemption.
And golf lends itself to social distancing! The course operators couldn't even get that right.
I can't see how a setting where social distancing is way more complicated will succeed.

health guidelines be adhered to without fail, i.e., no less than 6' apart at any point, keep it shortish, and if someone's prostrate with grief let him pick himself up, I could see it. With summer coming, open air might be required. That'd encourage the keep it short part also.

Florida's getting flack for putting golf on the "essential services" list, but there's really no reason not to exempt it, one person per cart allowed, no food service allowed, social distancing required, etc. To our great relief, because my husband's a fishing nut, fishing is also exempted from the ban.

There is now a requirement to follow the health guidelines "to the greatest extent practicable."

Executive order #22 that this upgrades to mandatory says, "However, it is strongly encouraged that the public celebration component of weddings and funerals be postponed or attended only by close family members.

What will "to the greatest extent practicable" mean in practice? Guessing it will continue to be up to the good sense of the churches themselves and the families involved.

Btw, in Florida gun and ammunition shops are on the "essential services" list.
