(9,874 posts)The Jackass-in-Chief has ensured that nothing but jackasses could be hired for his administration, and now we are all trying to tiptoe through the landmines of the coronavirus while federal jackasses run through the fields planting landmines.

(33,368 posts)In fact, I'm sure the orange pig would fire him if he could. He is one of the few people on the stage with that lunatic who directly and openly states, albeit too gently, that the moron has no idea what he's talking about.
He is not a member of the Trump administration. He's a professional who Trump hasn't found a way to fire.

(6,831 posts)trumpie absolutely COULD fire Tony and has told aids that he would like to, but is afraid of the backlash.
Obviously you have never worked for the federal government. POTUS can fire/or pressure to cause to be fired ANYONE in federal employ. My last job, after the NAVY, was for the U S Public Health Service. And yes, I know and worked with Tony Fauci.
Also, when you work for the federal government, you ARE a part of the administration. When you walk through the door of your agency every morning, the FIRST thing you see is a picture of your boss, the president of the United States.
Dr. Anthony Fauci is the Director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a federal agency under the broad umbrella of the U S Department of Health and Human Services (USHHS).

(33,368 posts)...against him.
You missed my point entirely.
Now it is possible that Trump is stupid enough to do it, but the fact is that he's a cowardly little freak and I have the feeling that he knows his world is crashing big time.
I think it quite possible as a result of this disaster, he may die in prison, and I think he's hearing that for the first time in his stupid life.
Trump has been firing professionals in the State department, the EPA, the Education department, everywhere. That's well known.
But here...here...here...
There are even some very, very, very, very stupid Magats who are turning against him. He's terrified by that little guy.

(6,831 posts)you said, "I'm sure the orange pig would fire him if he could."
That's what I was taking issue with in my post.
trumpie will never see prison.

(33,368 posts)I hate to go full Godwin, but...
At one point, Adolf Hitler ruled all of Europe except Spain, the UK, Sweden and a slice of Russia, either by "alliance, or by actual occupation.
The little shit ended his life in a tiny room in a tiny bunker with a gun barrel in his moutyh ranting like the sick little lunatic he was.
Trumpie is not competent as Hitler was.
More recently Milosevic, another one who considered that he was immune to justice, died in prison.
Ceausescu was arrested while fleeing and summarily shot.
All of these above dictators were more powerful in their countries than the little piece of shit.
Trump makes Richard Nixon look like a choir boy. When this is over, there'll be no one who was ever a Magat, just like there were no Nazis.

That Godwin ?
Too bad teachers no longer teach subjects like critical thinking and reasoning and logic.
He should be required reading.

(33,368 posts)...detail about the writings of Michael Godwin, but it's an excellent quote to keep in mind.
On another note however, I'm not sure how one can really teach critical thinking. One may expose people to the consequences of not doing so, something now happening on a national scale, but my feeling is that one can be encouraged to do it, but one must learn it on one's own.
At least this has been my personal experience. Looking back over my long life, I realize that for many years in my youth, I let other people think for me. I only learned about critical thinking when I began to look more deeply into some things I accepted rather blindly and recognized that they were not true.
It was relatively late in my life when I came to that realization.

Wish the Republicans would control their jackasses. They certainly do have a fine tradition of carrying them though. Kinda makes them ALL jackasses.
