which pop-culture dystopia do you think American society most resembles in 20 years?

(thinking not so much about the plot as the background and setting)

I was also thinking about posting the book "It can't happen here" by Sinclair Lewis.

Stay well.

I always think, no, they want us in 1984.

We are in a very safe place not totally immune but very low chance of catching anything. At this time anyway.

I’m a lucky one.

Stay well yourself. Sending US all good vibes.

I do suspect to see a rise in prescriptions written for Quietus (the suicide medication who's ad slogan is "you decide when&quot .

...from 1940. Predicted the rise of an American theocracy with unnerving skill and accuracy. Resembles "Handmaid's Tale" in some ways, but Heinlein, I think, has a shrewder grasp of the realities of power politics. Very much worth reading.
