(2,716 posts)He is being disciplined for sending a letter up the chain of command. His desperation is clear in the letter and he very likely sent classified messages to his superiors that were brushed off. He will now be reassigned to a billet far below his capabilities. He will be passed over for promotion twice and forced to retire. He should resign and use his status as a true American hero to rid this country of Donald Trump.

What it does, it undermines our efforts and the chain of commands efforts to address this problem and creates a panic and creates the perception that the navy is not on the job, the government is not on the job, and its just not true, Modly said.

(57,081 posts)gunnery practice. This is a very decorated ship, a little old (short of thirty years) but it's been very active.
The crew has been ordered down to 400 personnel to keep the reactors maintained, as well as the galley and essential electronics. And a clean up operation has started or will shortly. Its at Guam and there's a huge military presence there. They will be fine.

(17,538 posts)In the surface Navy become captains of nuclear carriers. The Navy has tens of of millions of dollars invested in the Captain's training, but yet they want to throw it all away because he fought to save his sailor's lives. Shame on the Navy, the DOD and our draft-dodging Commander in Chief. It is what you get when an idiot CIC wants to surround himself with bootlickers.
Perhaps President Biden will restore the Captain to command.

(17 posts)All the witnesses in the House's impeachment were highly competent professionals and you see how they were treated by the republicans. You have to lie for Trump if you don't want to raise their ire. The supporters are to blame for all of this including the death of a good portion of coronavirus victims. They are still out there lying daily.

(57,081 posts)reduces panic. That might work if they had a grip on it, but they don't. And that will cause panic and anger when the truth presents itself and no PR or State security will keep the truth hidden. Then you add the native stupidity of Trump to the mix and the relatively free nature of the US press ... and here we are. There is no leadership in the White House.
