just received an obnoxious letter from my lease management company.......

this portion:

"Under the newly enacted federal relief package, those that have been recently laid off will receive
an extra $2,500 per month from the federal government in addition to regular state unemployment
benefits, both available immediately with no waiting period. Furthermore, the federal government
will also be sending $1,200 checks to each adult and $500 per child within the next two weeks,
meaning a couple with one child will be receiving a check for $2,900. These cash payments are
being sent to you directly so that everyone can continue to pay for necessities such as rent and
avoid running behind on these essential bills, which can hurt your credit and create serious
financial problems for you in the future."

In other words........ unless you want your credit rating wrecked, don't bitch about paying your rent, and we KNOW you are getting money.

is ill-informed. Not everyone is getting $1200 or any stimulus money at all. And what exactly is that $2500 a month? I don't recall hearing any of that.

If you have been laid off you get your state's unemployment plus $600 per week from

the federal government. ($2400 per month.)

that the Feds were offering $600 unemployment insurance on top of what your state pays? But thought that was per week. So 4 weeks in a month would be $2400? I could be wrong... just going off memory.

It sounds like they are strong-arming people in a time when everything is uncertain and scary. I despise assholes like that.

Send it to a local TV station news dept.

See if they get some TV “love”.

You will have lots of company and businesses hoping to do credit business will be willing to look past a lot if they know a problem was due to the caronavirus response. If you can show that your credit was good going into the crisis and that you've made reasonable attempts to stay afloat during it, you will probably be OK.
