Our democratic republic is a creaking, fragile edifice at this point. Every single corrupt move they get away with emboldens them more. I think that many discount the more extreme scenarios simply becuase they have never happened IN THE US before, but many who discount these outcomes also attribute (correctly so) an almost unquenchable power lust and sociopathic narcissism/megalomania to Trump.
