WTAF?? State officials reopening Georgia beaches, including Tybee, effective Friday night

https://www.wjcl.com/article/dnr-reopening-georgia-beaches-including-tybee-effective-friday-night/32036285#

"The Governor’s Executive Order suspends the enforcement of any local ordinance or order adopted or issued since March 1, 2020 that relates to COVID-19," said Josh Hildebrandt, Director of Public and Governmental Affairs for DNR. "This Executive Order thus lifted any local ordinances or orders that had closed or restricted access to Georgia beaches."

Tybee officials tell WJCL they are weighing their options regarding the state's decision.

The Glynn County board of commissioners have issued the following statement:

"In compliance with Governor Kemp’s Shelter-in-Place order, Glynn County beaches are open for the purposes of exercise as of 6:00 p.m. on April 3, 2020. However the use of chairs, tents, and umbrellas on Georgia's coastal beaches is prohibited per the Georgia Department of Natural Resources effective as of 6:00 p.m. on April 3, 2020 through April 13, 2020. In order to provide parking, the parking areas of Massengale Park and Coast Guard Park will open as of 6:00 p.m. While using these areas, continue to maintain a distance of more than six feet from others who do not live in your household."

What could possibly go wrong?

7. This virus will never get contained as long as we have

shortsighted idiots like this. It must involve money, one of his donors probably has a business near the beach and he's losing money without any customers.

This is criminal that puts hundreds of people at risk and speeds the contagion far beyond the borders oh that state.

9. I found this headline on the AJC quite informative.....

Gov. Brian Kemp’s stay-at-home order trumps previous city-level orders

I'm curious if Kemp and Trump are willing to sign legal documents for those mayors and county officials stating they will pay the costs of any lawsuits they might face as a result of these decisions.
